To help low-income people build assets by developing new and different
habits, becoming savers instead of consumers, and thinking
and planning for the long term.
Federal funds are provided, along with donated funds from private and charitable organizations. Sponsors include:
Citizens Bank, the NH Community Development
Finance Authority, the NH Dept. of Health and Human Services,
several foundations, and the federal Assets for Independence
Act Demonstration Program. In total, the Community Loan Fund has raised $3.8 million
for the 3:1 savings match and for operations.
Since program inception in 2001, over 1,000 individuals have participated in the IDA program. They have accessed nearly 21,000 hours of educational training.
The New Hampshire Statewide Collaborative is made up of several locally-based community partners. If you are interested in becoming an IDA saver, click here to find the partner closest to you.
